[Rant] Bommie does NOT deserve dissing!

Well, this is my first time wring an entry on anything so… excuse my messy order of thoughts. Rated T for foul language.

I. Review

Let’s look back on what we have on the table, shall we?

First of all, in 2010, Park Bom (Bommie) embraced suspision when the Airport Customs uncovered a quantity of Amphetamine. The cosignees were Bommie’s mother and grandmother. Amphetamine is legal in the US, given the prescription. But, that is not the case in South Korea as it is banned.

The reason for her to do so was because she had been suffering from a dramatic trauma, causing her mental pain and she had to see psychiatrists in order to move on. She literally saw her best friend die before her very eyes. She only took approximately 3-4 counts of amphetamine per week. The quantity needed to use it as a drug is 3-4 counts per serving. According to Dispatch, she did not know that amphetamine was banned in South Korea. She simply thought that it was due to different government customs that amphetamine was not for sale in South Korea.

During her investigation, Bommie submitted her medical records and diagnosis from the US and South Korea, indicating that she was prescribed. The prescriptions were lawfully purchased from a hospital overseas so the case was dropped.

In 2014, 4 years after the incident, the case was reignited to cover up God-knows-what and hence, the ‘song’, named ‘Do The Right Rap‘ by A.Kor’s Kemy was born.

Lyrics:
Your bloated, swollen face.
You’re not satisfied no matter what you put in it.
You’re going to become an old person next to an ugly child
You drag your entire body and slap it onto your face
You’re at the point of addiction, “STOP IT!”
X? O? The answer is X, toxic.
Someone call the doctor, someone stop her.
You’re about the same as the Gangnam Beauty [who got plastic surgery 28 times]
You’re weak, and you fell into drugs.
Did the drugs fall into the jelly box?
Who glanced over the 4 pills that disappeared?
Since when were the prosecutors so nice?
The Samsung employee had 29 pills, and was detained at the detention center
You had 82 pills, and why are you innocent? They’re super cool.
The ambassador of the Ministry of Justice? You had a very fitting role, huh?
You took the title of the first smuggling-dol, huh? Amphetamine sh*t.
The articles were taken down so well. YG is no joke.
Try to cover up the sky with your palm. You just got your case suspended??
It must be nice for your fans to cover you up.
I’m jealous that your CEO writes a novel for you.
You set fire on your Roommate friends, and they must feel chaotic, because the corn exploded
You’ll hide behind your influential label and then come back when it gets quiet
Radio Star or Healing Camp, or anywhere. There won’t be a blow to you, huh?
YG, mental breakdown, your fans, mental breakdown.
How do you have time to go to Japan? Hurry and come back, come back home
No one else can be a smuggling-dol without you, can’t nobody.
Listen to this and clap your hands, let’s go party
YG, mental breakdown, your fans, mental breakdown.
How do you have time to go to Japan? Hurry and come back, come back home
No one else can be a smuggling-dol without you, can’t nobody.
Listen to this and clap your hands, let’s go party NOW.

II. Let the rants begin

1. Kemy is immature and she was not properly brought up.

Okay, I am Asian. We Asians all have the same mindset that the child’s behaviours reflect the child’s educational background. Now, Kemy’s behaviours showed that she is disrespectful. I did some research and found out that Kemy was born in 1997, which makes her 17. We all know that Bommie was born in 1984, which makes her 30. How would one call a girl who insulted a woman who is almost twice as old as her? Oh yeah, disrespectful. Not to mention, 2NE1 has been in the industry for 5 fucking years! So, Bommie is supposed to be her sunbae, her senpai, her senior, her whatever-you-call-it, right? I did a little math here. 2NE1 made their debut on 17th of May, 2009 so they have been in the industry for approximately 265 weeks. A.Kor made their debut on 25th of July, 2014, which is like… a week ago. So basically, Kemy insulted the person who has more experience on the front line than that of all of A.Kor’s members combined. Yeah, REAL NICE. That made me question her educational background. Did her parents not teach her common sense or even morals? Did her agency not teach her proper work etiquette? How did someone without proper education even make it into an agency?

2. Kemy is heartless.

Now, as I stated, Kemy is 17. That basically makes her a young adult. Did she really think through about the consequences of her own actions?

I shall share some of my own personal experience. I am on prescriptions. I was diagnosed with depression and bipolar disorder when I was 13. I am now 15. I have steadily been taking medications prescribed by my psychiatrists. I took Seroquel, Zoloft, Paxil, etc. Although it has been more than 2 years since I first started, I still find it terrifying to go the the hospital. I can only imagine the pain and the horror of repeating that routine for 15 years. I must admit that Bommie’s situation is far worse than mine. I wake up and feel like shit every single day. She wakes up and feels depressed everyday. That is far worse than me. I am lucky that I can still talk to friends about it. Bommie decided not to worry others and kept it hidden from CL, Dara and Minzy. She shouldered the pain all by herself to keep others from worrying about her. That is very brave of her. She went through the trauma of seeing her friend die in front of her face. She was 15 back then. That is the period that people usually form their personalities so her emotions must not have been stable. Now, seeing your friend die while you are in puberty, while you are still discovering life, while your emotions are most likely to burst out (not in a good way) is truly traumatising. Just imagine the period when you are attacked by mood swings everyday and you suddenly see your best friend die before your eyes, would you still be able to remain as you are? Bommie, she is scarred for life.

Considering that and Kemy just kept on making that song? Now, that is just heartless. Or, did she even consider anything? Hmm… I do not know since her action was so unbelievably… insensitive! Bommie is a delicate human being. We all are. She even reached the point of depression that she had to seek professional help. Now, adding this to the equation, I do not think a normal human being can stand this. This is not dissing anymore, this is bullying. This is equivalent to bullying a cancer patient who lost his or her hair due to chemo. Instead of sympathising with her, Kemy chose to bully her.

3. Retaliating the lyrics.

These are some lines that caught my attention.

1. Your bloated, swollen face.
You’re not satisfied no matter what you put in it.
You’re going to become an old person next to an ugly child
You drag your entire body and slap it onto your face

2. You’re about the same as the Gangnam Beauty [who got plastic surgery 28 times]

Half of the people in the industry have plastic surgery and that is okay. But when Bommie does it, it becomes unacceptable? She is in her 30’s! News flash: PEOPLE GET OLD. She still wants to sing and be an entertainer. She had surgeries, so what? Yeah, I admit that I think she had surgeries. Yeah, I said it, and what? Whatchu gonna do about it?! I bet when Kemy reaches Bommie’s age, she would get one, too! Disrespectfully discriminated her, Kemy my dear. Tsk tsk tsk. I am constantly clicking my tongue.

3. You’re at the point of addiction, “STOP IT!”
X? O? The answer is X, toxic.
Someone call the doctor, someone stop her.

4. Since when were the prosecutors so nice?

Okay, I am just speechless at this point. Is the girl stupid beyond the point of going back or what? As I summed up before, Bommie submitted her records and diagnosis. She had has an illness! She experienced more trauma than Kemy will ever do. The reason was plausible and the prosecutor decided to suspend the case. End of story. Well, Kemy kinda dug this up again, so…

5. The Samsung employee had 29 pills, and was detained at the detention center
You had 82 pills, and why are you innocent? They’re super cool.

I shall quote this from allkpop’s epitomised translation of Dispatch’s article:

19) Recently, a Samsung employee also did the same thing. But he was charged for his deeds b/c he didn’t reveal it that they were for medical purposes, and that he only said that “I got it from a person I know.”

Now, you cannot state that the 2 cases are the same, can you?

Well, since Kemy kindly mentioned the Samsung employee, I shall retort by bringing up the case of a National Intelligence Service agent.

20) The Nat. Intelligence Service employee involved in this issue was also not charged because he used it for his son who had ADHD.

Last June, a National Intelligence Service agent, Person C, received a charge for carrying a case of powder made from a plant that contains a drug substance. At the time, Person C, imported a package of a powder made from the roots of a Brazilian ornamental flower called Mimosa Plant, which contains strong components of DMT, or Dimethyltryptamine.

In spite of everything, prosecutors learned that Person C intentionally ordered the powder directly off the internet after discovering that the powder from the plant’s roots would help treat the illness of his son, who is suffering from a severe case of ADHD(Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). So after finding zero traces of drug use (the powder) in Person C’s system/bloodstream, he was acquitted of his charges—Person C was considered to have purchased the substance in order to use it for medicinal purposes only and prosecutors found no signs of substance abuse.

Sounds familiar? Yes, the same happened to Bommie. Before you judge others, please get to the bottom of the situation, first.

4. To those who say that this is not targeted at Bommie and we BlackJacks are just dumb to jump to conclusions and bash Kemy.

Hello? Look at the lyrics, please?

YG, mental breakdown, your fans, mental breakdown.
How do you have time to go to Japan? Hurry and come back, come back home
No one else can be a smuggling-dol without you, can’t nobody.
Listen to this and clap your hands, let’s go party
YG, mental breakdown, your fans, mental breakdown.
How do you have time to go to Japan? Hurry and come back, come back home
No one else can be a smuggling-dol without you, can’t nobody.
Listen to this and clap your hands, let’s go party NOW.

Hmm… I see several 2NE1 songs there:

  1. MTBD
  2. Come Back Home
  3. Can’t Nobody
  4. Clap Your Hands
  5. Let’s Go Party

You dare call us delusional and self-important? Not to mention, Kemy specifically said, ‘YG’. Tell me, who is dumb again?

Side note, if you listen to the beginning of the song, Kemy even copied CL’s signature line from 2NE1’s debut single: Fire.

5. To the ones that call Kemy ‘brave’.

I think Kemy is a coward. She is so much of a coward that she does not have the courage to make real progress to be seen as an artist. She chose the easy path: creating a scandal. That one route to instantly rise to fame. Well, she is famous now. Unfortunately, this is not the right kind of fame. Being famous for doing disrespectful things is not worth it.

III. Advices.

1. To Kemy.

You have real talent. Given the right environment, you can grow and prosper into a fine artist. You still have time but you decided to rush and… screwed up. We believe in something called, ‘second chances’ and I hope you will change for the better. If not, you disappoint me.

2. To other fans and BlackJacks specifically.

I visited A.Kor’s fanpage on Facebook and saw some disturbing comments. Many of you called Kemy a ‘fugly insecure bitch’ and told her to ‘go to hell’. I have to say that you guys are giving the fandom a bad name and reputation. Do you guys remember when CL was told to ‘go to hell’ when MTBD was accused for using Q’ran? You remember how sad she was? Then please, do not do the same to other people. CL and even Minzy, Dara, Bom will feel troubled when they find out their fans, who they inspired, say that to other people. They will most definitely blame themselves so please, I do not want them to worry any further.

That is it for my first ever blog entry. Leave a comment. You guys are welcome to express your opinions, as long as you do not harmfully insult anyone.
